Sr Eveleen Retreat House offers regular residential silent retreats based on the spiritual exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola and occasional themed and directed retreats, updated regularly.
Weekend Retreat
The Changing shape of Our Lives Fri 17 (7.00pm) – Sun 19th June (3.30pm)

Many of us are facing change whether due to the effects of earthquakes, personal circumstances, or the life stage we find ourselves at. This retreat is an opportunity for women to come aside in a nurturing environment to share, reflect and pray together creatively – accompanied by two women from scripture. A time to listen to God’s movement in our lives and be open to what is seeking to emerge as a “new shaping” of our lives. (Cost $185).
Joan Jennings MA (Spiritual Direction) is Acting Director of Campion Ignatian Spirituality Centre in Melbourne, she is a psychotherapist, and has a background in nursing.
Lyn Gallagher BA (Sociology) is a Director of Sr Eveleen House, Christchurch. She has a background in social work and counselling and spiritual direction.
Residential 6 Day Silent Individually Guided Retreat
An opportunity to listen to God at work in the experience of your daily life and prayer. You will be accompanied by a spiritual director who will meet with you daily. Contemplative community prayer is also part of this retreat.

You will be accompanied by a spiritual director who will meet with you daily. Contemplative community prayer is also part of this retreat. Spiritual directors Lyn and/or Kevin Gallagher will lead these retreats, occasionally accompanied by another trained director. Lyn and Kevin are both members of NZ association of Christian spiritual directors, having been formed in this ministry on the SEED course and at St Beuno’s in Wales.
